The London Chinese Philharmonic ChoirBo set up the London Chinese Philharmonic Choir ( LCPC ) with Mr. Yee Cheung Hui who is the choir’s chairman in 2013. As the artistic director and conductor , he uses his enormous musical knowledge and understanding of the music that the choir is performing to enable the choir to sing in the best possible way. As the conductor he is able to capture the light and shade of the piece and enable each choir member to be able to perform at their highest abilities. His understanding and empathy with the music allows the choir in either English or Mandarin to engage and communicate with the audience. Bo’s strong and firm leadership has allowed the choir to work together and develop over a very short time span.
The London Chinese Philharmonic Choir (LCPC) is an amateur music group with quality. The Objectives of LCPC are to train amateur singer to acquire vocal skill; to train the choir to obtain the technique for chorus; to rehearse both Western and Chinese classical and contemporary chorus songs; to perform for various non-profit making charity event or festive event. As music is the language without borders, LCPC would use it to promote the Chinese Culture and promote cultural exchanges between East and West. Since the establishment, LCPC adheres to its objectives, putting great effort to build the amateur choir as an advanced level one. Through the choir’s activities to introduce Chinese culture to the overseas Chinese and British friends. Meanwhile, to learn some western chorus repertoires, through music to comprehend western culture , so that members of LCPC to integrate themselves into mainstream society. LCPC has formed itself become the largest amateur Chinese art organization in the Chinese Community in UK and that has independent operational capacity to organize concert; a multipart mixed chorus that comprise old age, middle age, young and juvenile members of four generations from China, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore and Malaysia; a choir organizes the premiere of Xian Xinghai’s monumental works The Yellow River Cantata in the UK; a choir has the ability to handle works of acappella and multipart mixed chorus of Different languages. During the three years , the choir participated in the earthquake relief and celebration event; Successfully held the Voice of Spring concert in March 2014; 2015 May performing at the Royal festival Hall in London for the third international Chinese film Festival closing ceremony awards concert.; More proud of is that on September 13 ,2015 , LCPC has organized a concert at the Cadogan Hall in London for ” The 70th Anniversary Victory Commemoration of WWII ” ,The concert was completed with a great success, The concert hall was packed and commented with favorable view. April 2016, LCPC ‘s first charity concert was organized for nursing home in North London. The choir sang some Chinese and English songs for the elderly. To pass on the traditional Chinese virtues, such as respect for the elderly, harmonious integration, building a harmonious society. May 2015, LCPC for the first time to participate in the London Sangerstevne international Choral Festival; July, at Portico gallery in west Norwood, London, LCPC and the other five British chorus gathered and jointly organized concert to raise money for St. Christopher’s hospice . October 23rd, LCPC will hold a concert with City of Oxford Orchestra in Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford . For the first time in Oxford singing 'The Yellow River Cantata' and introduces some other Chinese and Western vocal works and Western classical chamber music to the audience. The net proceeds of concert will be donated to Helen and Douglas House – the world’s first hospice care for children and young adults.
